Established in 1986 and currently celebrating its 20th anniversary, The DuPage Community Foundation seeks to raise the quality of life throughout DuPage County by developing and channeling philanthropy to meet the needs of its residents. Fonkoze USA
We support Fonkoze Haiti in eradicating poverty and providing microfinance and education services to the rural poor. In fact, we are the largest microfinance provider in Haiti and conduct education classes in literacy, health and disease prevention, and business development. Currently, we have 36,000+ microcredit loans and 90,000+ savings accounts, but have goals of attaining 200,000 and 400,000 respectively in the next five years. Some 97% of our clients are women. At the same time, we will address the extreme poor and move them into the mainstream of the microcredit program and improve the literacy rate of our clients from 50% to 90%.
